Warm Welcome to Nigerian Government Delegation

Published:2015-11-17

On November 13th, the Nigerian government delegation came to Henan Province, China. The Provincial Department of Commerce organized 25 enterprises to participate in business communication, and Gelgoog Food Machinery is one of the invited participants. The governor of Cross River State introduced Nigeria's economic development situation, detailed mention to the country's urgent need for development of the industry. Some industries be bound up with our business include:
Textile and garment manufacturing equipment, paper machinery, cassava processing, pharmaceutical industry, food processing and packaging machinery, waste treatment technology cycle, motorcycle tricycles, livestock and meat processing, paper making equipment, wigs and so on.

When Nigeria announced recently that it had become Africa’s biggest economy, you could be forgiven for thinking that oil was the only reason. After all, Nigeria is the biggest oil producer in Africa. What many people didn’t realize was the growing role of agriculture in boosting Nigeria’s economy – and the lives of its large rural population. The government office responsible for Agriculture is currently the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Primarily funded by the Federal Government, the Ministry currently superintends almost fifty parastatals operating as either key departments or agencies across the country. The Ministry has 2 major departments namely Technical and Service Departments. Technical Departments: Agriculture (Trees and Crops), Fisheries, Livestock, Land Resources, Fertilizer, Food Reserve & Storage and Rural Development. Service Departments: Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, PPAS (Plan, Policy, Analysis & Statistics) and Co-operatives.
If Nigeria commits more resources to agriculture and continues to improve institutional and legal frameworks, it will be in a position not only to feed itself but to export food – and to mark a path for the rest of Africa. As Akinwumi Adesina, Nigeria’s agriculture minister, said last year, “In Nigeria, we’re making agriculture the new oil.” It is possible if the efforts are sustained.
Nigeria, in partnership with the African Union, will lead the process for democracy and development in Africa.China would like to work with African countries including Nigeria to jointly build up a new type of strategic partnership featuring equality, mutual trust, win-win cooperation and mutual exchanges.
